While learning can be a great equaliser, we understand that not all learners are equal. Parental incomes vary, as do learning aptitudes. The same applies to the teaching nous, experience, and abilities of tutors. Find who suits you best, and pay what your budget allows.

FAQs

Experience can be a nebulous concept. Yes, we have tutors with many years of instruction under their belts, all of whom have been vetted by HomeGuru’s advisory panel. But here’s the other side of the coin. Might someone studying at an IIT or for a Phd be better suited? After all, given they have recently gone through experiences you are likely to face, they might actually be in a better position for you to relate to.
There are no monthly fees. The fee you pay depends upon:
  • The number of subjects you’ve chosen to expand your learning on
  • The frequency of sessions for those subjects
  • The rate charged by tutors for each subject and session
You can do the math from there and decide what suits your pocket.

Our advice to all parents and/or learners is to make payments in advance for the number of sessions booked for a period of time, say a month. After every learning session, the tuition fee for that session will be deducted from your e-wallet, and transferred by us to your tutor. An invoice will automatically be generated and sent to the parent of a learner, or the learner themselves. The number of sessions completed can be tracked directly by a parent or learner simply by logging onto our website or the mobile app.

There are multiple ways you can make payments for your tuitions:

  • Internet banking (NEFT)
  • Immediate Payment Service (IMPS)
  • UPI services (GPay, PhonePe, PayTM etc.)
Any time you feel uncertain about the status of your payments – or any other query, for that matter – we’d invite you to contact us and speak to one of our customer coordinators, who will be more than happy to help resolve things for you.
Without regular assessments, how will you evaluate your mastery of a subject and the improvements you’ve made? We encourage tutors to conduct assessments, and for learners to take them seriously. You get familiar with examination techniques, and get real guidance on how best to answer questions. And, of course, it keeps both of you on your toes.
At HomeGuru, we do not conduct classes. In fact, we’re just the opposite. We encourage one-on-one learning at a time and frequency that is convenient to both you and your tutor.
That’s another benefit that sets us apart from others. You set the time in consultation with your tutor. It’s your need, so you decide.
We encourage all learners and tutors to stick to the agreed schedule. However, we recognise the fact that things happen that necessitate sessions be rescheduled. Here’s another way our easy-to-use app is your friend. As long as you do so at least 12 hours prior to the time agreed with your tutor, you will not be charged for that session.
Without it, we’d be doing you a disservice. We are transparent, in that neither technology nor algorithms decide the list of tutors shown in the subject or subjects and other criteria you have chosen. Their profiles and prior experience are there for any learner to examine, after which you make an informed decision.
This is perhaps the best part. You can have your cake and eat it too! It all depends upon your needs. You can have one, the other, or both, depending upon the subjects you feel you require the most help in. The choice is yours.
